International Women’s Day Celebrates the Impact of Women at Argo and Around the World

Celebrate International Women's Day by finding out how women at Argo Group are leading the changes now underway in insurance.

This year’s campaign theme for International Women’s Day, held each year on March 8, is #PressforProgress to honor the achievements and excellence of women while actively removing barriers that prevent women and girls from reaching their full potential.

Embracing momentum is especially relevant to employees at Argo Group and others in the industry, who are both witnessing and actively participating in the changes sweeping through the world of insurance.

At Argo, women are key players in the industry’s transformation, and their efforts have not gone unnoticed. The leadership of four women at Argo earned recognition in 2017 from industry publications:

  • Louise Miller, a reinsurance manager at ArgoGlobal, was profiled in the 2017 Influential Women in Re/Insurance feature by Intelligent Insurer.
  • Sherron Williams, a senior underwriter at Argo Re, was profiled in the 2017 Influential Women in Re/Insurance list by Intelligent Insurer and also named one of the Influential Women of Bermuda by BermudaRe+ILS.
  • Saadia Savory, a senior underwriter at Argo Re, was named one the Bermuda Rising Stars by BermudaRe+ILS.
  • Shantaye Wolffe, an information technology associate at Ariel Re, was named one of the Bermuda Rising Stars by BermudaRe+ILS.

From millennials at the beginning of their careers to managers and executives who apply expertise gained during their years of experience, women at Argo Group are pushing the company to perform at a level greater than ever before.

International Women’s Day serves as a reminder for all to recognize the excellence and leadership of women and to collectively press for progress.
