JERSEY CITY, N.J. – June 29, 2017 – Argo Pro, a member of Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd. (NASDAQ: AGII), an international underwriter of specialty insurance and reinsurance products, today announced the appointments of Mary Henderson as senior vice president, head of financial institutions, and Dan Gmelin as vice president, underwriting, architects & engineers (A&E). Henderson will work to expand Argo Pro’s presence in the financial institutions market through new product offerings, such as the recently announced asset management form, and by adding top talent to staff. Gmelin will manage the Architects & Engineers book of business. Both begin their appointments immediately. Henderson will report to Craig Landi, president of Argo Pro; Gmelin will report to Bill Kelly, senior vice president, E&O underwriting, Argo Pro.

Henderson has 22 years of experience in the insurance industry. She comes to Argo from Travelers Companies, where she spent 14 years, serving most recently as regional vice president. Prior to working at Travelers, she was assistant vice president, financial and professional insurance broker at Marsh and McClennan Companies. Henderson graduated from The Catholic University of America with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Gmelin comes to Argo from Hiscox Insurance Company, where he most recently served as senior vice president and manager of the A&E book of business. Gmelin was one of the first employees at Hiscox in the U.S. and helped build the region’s book of business. He worked with all of Hiscox’s professional liability products including A&E, Miscellaneous E&O, Allied Healthcare Technology, Cyber and General Liability. Prior to joining Hiscox, he held a senior underwriter position at Professional Indemnity Agency. He was also a financial advisor with CIBC Oppenheimer’s High Net Worth Private Client Group. Gmelin graduated from the University at Albany, SUNY.
