SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Alteris Insurance Services, Inc. (Alteris), in partnership with the California Association of Mutual Water Companies (CalMutuals), announced today that Zenith Insurance Company (Zenith) will serve as the workers’ compensation reinsurer and service provider for the recently formed CalMutuals JPRIMA, which works with nonprofit water systems and other water-related entities in California.
“CalMutuals JPRIMA and Alteris have partnered with Zenith because of its reputation as an industry leader with superior workers’ compensation customer service, underwriting and claim expertise,” said Alteris Insurance Services President, Paul Fuller. “These attributes have created one of the largest, oldest and most stable workers’ compensation carriers in California.”
CalMutuals JPRIMA was established to serve the insurance needs of non-profit water systems and other water-related entities in response to the California’s legislature passage of AB 656 in September 2015. The Association provides its members with access to customized insurance solutions as well as proprietary technical support, regulatory compliance and advisory services.
“Zenith is excited to be partnering with CalMutuals JPRIMA and Alteris to deliver an innovative workers’ compensation solution providing access to our proven expertise,” said Zenith’s President and CEO, Kari Van Gundy.
Workers’ compensation coverage will be distributed through both Alteris’ and Zenith’s networks of insurance agents and brokers. Alteris will serve as the Insurance Administrator in order to facilitate the delivery of the workers’ compensation product to JPRIMA non-profit water systems and water-related entities located in California.
Key workers’ compensation class codes covered under CalMutuals JPRIMA will include Waterworks, Irrigation Drainage or Reclamation and Sanitary Operations. Secondary Class Codes include Sewer Construction, Water Mains or Connection Construction, Excavation, Irrigation Pipe Installation and Concrete Construction.
Zenith is an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited and is a specialist in workers’ compensation.
