Argo employees in the Houston area joined with retail and wholesale partners to help Big Brothers Big Sisters build bikes for local kids.
Giving back and having fun
“It’s important that we can come together as an insurance community to support the places that our clients and staff call home,” says Ken Jaegge, SVP, Group Producer Management and US Marketing. “Not only is Big Brothers Big Sisters a great cause, the Houston event was also a unique team-building exercise. Learning how to build bikes requires a different skill set than talking insurance all day!”
Angela Ohnesorge, Underwriting Manager, says participants were enthusiastic about the event from the get-go.
“It was overwhelming how our partnering brokers and agents immediately accepted our invitation to participate,” she says. “Everyone is still talking about it!”
Building relationships and community
Jaegge says that volunteer events don’t just help the community, they create stronger relationships within the company as well.
“We are all incredibly busy, but I think supporting your community, even if it’s just for an hour, while enjoying good company is a win-win,” he says.
