ArgoGlobal employees have been supporting disadvantaged children throughout the COVID-19 crisis via an Acts of Kindness initiative with partner charity Buttle UK.

The organization helps children and young people aged 11–18 across the UK who are growing up in financial hardship or are disadvantaged by severe social, emotional, or health problems within their family or care setting.

Throughout the partnership, ArgoGlobal has helped raise over £200,000 through various initiatives and events, including The Italian Job charity motor rally in 2019.

Acts of Kindness

This latest initiative was the brainchild of ArgoGlobal’s charity committee, as a way for staff to directly support a child and help others during the pandemic. After receiving a list of names and age ranges, employees purchased and sent small gifts with a personal message via the care team at Buttle UK.

Gifts included craft sets, sticker books, reading materials and edible treats – with allergies checked beforehand.

Adrienne Gregory, major donor and corporate manager for Buttle UK, says this has meant so much to the children they are supporting at this difficult time.

“The Acts of Kindness initiative is exactly the sort of thing we’ve come to expect from ArgoGlobal,” she says. “It’s a simple and direct way to let a child know that people care about them.

“We are so grateful to ArgoGlobal staff for their generosity, especially at a time like this, when so many children and young people are stuck at home, with little to entertain them or keep them engaged. Your gifts make a huge impact on the families who receive them.”

Messages of Thanks

Many ArgoGlobal employees were delighted to receive thank-you notes from the children they had supported:

“Lily received her gift this morning and is delighted with her new colouring pencils. She plans to keep them unused until she returns to school in September! Please do pass on our appreciation to Vith.”
“Thanks so much for the card and gift you sent to Daniel. He was really pleased to receive it, and very happy it contained many of his preferred sweets and Top Trumps of his favourite football players! Please pass on our thanks to Nicola for her very thoughtful gift and kind words in the card.”

About Buttle UK

Buttle UK aims to improve the lives of disadvantaged young people through financial grants. The purpose of each grant is to remove any material barriers to a child’s education, training or well-being. Grants are commonly awarded for school equipment, bedroom furniture and, in more extreme cases, placements at boarding schools.

Chances for Children Butte UK logoGregory is delighted with the progress they have been able to make through the partnership with ArgoGlobal.

“Working together with ArgoGlobal has allowed us to achieve so much for the vulnerable children and young people Buttle UK supports through our Chances for Children grant,” she says. “All the hard work of the charity committee and the UK team, from runs and race nights to the Rugby Dinner and the incredible record-breaking 30th Anniversary Italian Job, has helped change the lives of children, young people and their families all across the UK.”
