LONDON – July 29, 2019 – ArgoGlobal, the Lloyd’s insurer and member of Argo Group, today announced the appointment of John Moffatt to serve as active underwriter for Syndicate 1200, subject to regulatory approval. Moffatt will report to Matt Harris, group head of International operations.
“ArgoGlobal continues to strengthen a growing bench of top-tier talent, and I’m pleased to have John in this critical position,” said Harris. “John’s proven track record and long-standing relationships within Lloyd’s will serve us well as we continue to reposition our Lloyd’s book of business.”
With more than 25 years of industry experience specializing in international direct, facultative and coverholder business, Moffatt previously served as the head of ArgoGlobal’s specialty business since 2015. He joined ArgoGlobal in 2010 as class underwriter for accident and health before assuming responsibility as deputy of the property division in 2013. He previously served at QBE European Operations managing their accident and health portfolio.
Steve Eccles formerly served as Syndicate 1200 active underwriter. He will immediately commence leave from the office. “We appreciate Steve’s contributions to our International business and wish him the best in his future endeavours,” said Harris.
