Argo’s Formula E partner, now known as GEOX DRAGON, will return to competition as the 2018–19 ABB Formula E season kicks off December 15 in Ad Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.
The Ad Diriyah E-Prix will be the first Saudi Formula E event and the first race featuring a new generation of cars. In seasons past, battery limitations necessitated that each driver use two cars per race. But with almost double the energy storage capacity in the new cars, drivers can now complete a race with only one Gen2 vehicle.
It’s an exciting time for the sport and for GEOX DRAGON, which has unveiled a new vehicle and welcomed a new driver.
José María “Pechito” López, who joined the team early last season, will be back with GEOX DRAGON for season 5. López will be joined by Maximilian Günther, who served as the team’s test and reserve driver last season. Both drivers will be behind the wheel of the new Penske EV-3 car.
Argo continues to partner with GEOX DRAGON on the basis of shared commitments to innovation, teamwork and sustainability. Motorsport is a high-stakes activity that exemplifies the risk–reward balance integral to success in sport and business alike.
