Established in 2009 in Bermuda, home of Argo Group’s headquarters, The Argo Foundation invests in programs and services that enrich the lives of Bermuda’s youth, preparing them for a productive and rewarding future.
Funding decisions are made at quarterly meetings by an independent allocations committee made up of Argo Group employees living and working in Bermuda as well as a cross-section of Bermudians working in the for- and not-for-profit sectors.
The foundation’s mission is to support the healthy development and well-being of Bermuda’s young people under the age of 18. The following criteria are required.
- Charities are registered in Bermuda and have an active board of governors that meets regularly.
- Financial statements are filed with the Bermuda Charities Commissioner according to the schedule established by the Commissioner.
- Programs and services offered are not duplicated by other nonprofits in Bermuda. (Where similar objectives are shared, there should be clear evidence of partnership and cooperation.)
